“Treasure Yourself”, it sounds like something your grandmother would say to you. But this life lesson is the title of Miranda Kerr’s new book. Miranda has established herself as one of the top 10 models in the world, has married Orlando Bloom, one of the most sought after actors on the planet and appears at home to motherhood with baby Flynn now six months old.
What young women wouldn’t want to know the secret to how she positioned her brand as the nurturing young mother, girl next door all the while encouraging young women to embrace themselves and their individuality. Miranda has extended her brand through her versatility as a model. Her core brand values include: natural beauty; individuality; femininity.
Miranda Kerr, best known as one of the Victoria's Secret Angels, rose to prominence within the fashion industry in her mid-teens after winning a 1997 Australian nation-wide model search hosted by Dolly Magazine and Impulse fragrances. Her youth caused controversy in the Australian press, which raised concerns about the ethics of showing such a young girl in skimpy clothing. Miranda at the time went back to her home town in country Australia and finished her studies and then went on to study Nutrition and Health Psychology, at the Academy of Natural Living.
In 2008, Victoria's Secret signed Miranda as its newest Angel. She was the first Australian model ever to appear in a Victoria's Secret runway show. Miranda has also graced the runways for designers such as, Balenciaga, Anna Molinari, Roberto Cavalli, Comme Des Garcons, Blumarine, Issey Miyake and many more.
She has appeared on the covers and pages of numerous magazines, including British Harper's Bazaar, British GQ, Vogue, Marie Claire, Vanity Fair, the cover of Rolling Stone, Harpers Bazaar, Madison, Italian Glamour, Elle and recently editorial in V magazine, US Marie Claire, US Glamour and the cover of Harpers Bazaar Australia and Pirelli calendar.
She consistently appears in print and television advertising campaigns as well as their runway shows. Her campaign work includes Victoria's Secret, Maybelline, Levi's, Blumarine, Clinique's "Happy" fragrance and she is the face of the Australian department store David Jones.
The 28-year-old landed at Sydney International Airport recently with her six-month-old son Flynn. Miranda is back in Australia to promote her book Treasure Yourself and to appear at David Jones fashion events.
Miranda now lives in New York with Orlando Bloom and has established herself as one of the top 10 models in the world. In October 2009, Kerr launched an organic skincare line, called KORA Organics, in Australia with co-founder George Moskos.
