While you may still be rugged up and wearing your black winter threads, Spring and Summer fashions are now in store and will soon be on sale.
Often by the time we feel like shopping for the new season the range available is sadly depleted. By recognising the merchandising trends of stores we can become clever Style Shoppers. By September the Spring range will have been in store for about 8-10 weeks and will start being discounted. While the full Summer range starts being unwrapped and displayed.
10 top styles for Spring and Summer:
1.50’s glamour remains with us with shirt dresses, tea dresses and one piece swim suits. Solid colours remain while florals and bright patterns grow bolder this Spring.
2.Collette Dinnigan’s beautiful Spring/Summer range of silver dresses ensures that our metallic’s and satin fabrics are here to stay for a while longer.
3.Shoes are beautiful peep toe sling backs or extreme gladiator flats or towering heels.
4.Dresses are everywhere. Whether short or maxi, they are vibrant, elegant with feminine ruffles or detailing and are a must this summer.
5.‘Australian’ inspired pieces with tan leather boots and belts worn with demure soft tweed pencil skirts and feminine blouse or natural linen shirt dresses . Wear this with a European twist - trend coat over the top either in a pop of colour or neutral .
6.Periwinkle and all shades of purple and blue are emerging colours for spring, while tangerine/coral still holds a special place as a pop of colour. Look out for gorgeous handbags and trench coats in these colours.
7.All body shapes are well catered for with A-line shaped skirts and dresses, capped sleeves (Alex Perry range is reminiscent of the 50’s domestic goddess) and for those with great décolleté – gorgeous strapless or one shoulder strap dresses.
8.Pearls have re-emerged as the jewellery of choice when partnered with a demure 50’s inspired creations and satins . Combine serious earring bling with a cuff or costume ring teamed with a strapless dress.
9.Work wear remains well fitted classic pieces though moves away from heavy black to charcoal, grey flecks and some navy. Waistlines are still emphasised with belts and cinched waist jackets.
10.The safari look with natural fabrics in neutral colours, natural beads, bracelets and scarves means there is something for everyone.
