I had the best time in Brisbane meeting with you both, it was life changing. I'd be so happy to share my story with your clients.
The Personal Colour and Style Session
I was initially quite nervous about the process, but within minutes I felt at ease. Rachel you have a way of connecting with your clients to making them feel comfortable, important and part of the process rather than just "another client". I was amazed at how colour can change the tones and complexion of your face, it wasn't something I had ever thought about before. I really enjoyed the process and being a part of it, asking me what my thoughts were about colours and how I felt helped me to understand the process behind deciding whether I was a cool or warm! This was not terminology I had ever heard of before, let alone describing it to friends and showing them the array of beautiful colours I could now wear.
The theory component of my journey that you provided armed me with the right tools and decisions to be made when selecting styles of clothes and colours that enhance my eyes or hair colour, I'm still becoming one with the colour periwinkle! Thank you so much for your help and extensive knowledge that you passed on to me.
The Personal Shopping
Personal shopping is an intimate experience, you want a person to be sensitive to your needs, understand your body and what clothes bring out your best features, you want someone that you feel comfortable with and Pina definitely ticks all those boxes. I loved Pina from the moment I met her, she made me feel comfortable and understood my needs. Pina is the most kind hearted, intelligent and knowledgeable person and designer I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Pina selected a boutique shop as our first stop and my first impressions were that I would not fit into any of the clothing, I was pleasantly surprised and wholeheartedly tried on any clothing that was selected for me. That was the start of an adventure full of laughs and joy as I discovered that there are clothes out there that fit me and suit my new body shape.
Pina accepted me as I was and helped me understand the type of clothing that suited me, we worked through almost an entire wardrobe including intimates, shoes, pants, tops, makeup and hair. I was so excited when Pina suggested a new haircut for me, and so lucky that the hairdresser could fit me in. I have to say the entire experience for me is life changing, from an amazing wardrobe to a new haircut all in one day, I would never have imagined it to be true. Thankyou Pina.
I really feel like I have made two new friends, that I can call on in a shopping crisis. I have recommended you both to people and would hope to one day catch up with you again.
My Story
I started a personal journey of rediscovering who I was, I seem to have lost my way over the years making bad food choices and falling into a spiral of self pity. I decided it was time to lose some weight, over the last 6 months I managed to lose 20kgs which surprised me no end. I was feeling happier, healthier and felt alittle younger, the only problem was that my wardrobe gave no indication away that I was losing weight apart from getting larger and looser, it wasn't revealing my new body shape. My wardrobe consisted of clothes that fit and covered every part of my body that I didn't want revealed, you could say they resembled a sack. The clothes I chose weren't for appearance, colour or style, if they fit I bought them.
After losing my weight I realised that I had some clothing choices now to make, variety, colours, and styles, the only problem was that I was so out of touch with myself and fashion that I felt lost every time I walked into a clothing store. A friend recommended that I contact a stylist to give me a helping hand, she had met Rachel and Pina before and felt that I would have gained alot from the experience. So I made the call and haven't looked back since, I enjoyed both the theory and practical component of the consultation. Rachel Quilty provided the personal style and colour consultation and Pina Fiorenza with a personal shopping experience.Both equipping me with the tools I need to make wise shopping choices that suit me and my new body shape without wasting time and money on clothing that I would have previously bought.
I was amazed at how good I felt trying on clothes, some even designer clothes that never fit me before and somehow looked really good on me. It was surprising that items of clothing that I would have never even looked at previously, looked incredible on. I just needed the eyes of a professional teaching me what to look for, Pina was brilliant. I was on such a natural high when shopping with Pina and finding clothes that I loved, we even managed to fit in a new haircut that made me feel like I had my old self back again. Like the hairdresser said once he had completed my hair "mama's back" was exactly how I felt.
I caught up with family and friends after the shopping experience and they commented that I had changed in some way, that I was much happier and looked younger and refreshed. I had a personal parade with friends in my new clothes, they commented on how much slimmer I looked. It's amazing what miracles clothing can do for you when your wearing the right thing.
